Weekly Reflection

This week was a tough week. My morning sickness is in full swing, while Sophie has decided to go on a week-long napping strike. The house is disgustingly messy, I’ve been living at my OB’s office, and we have added stress due to some other big changes taking place for our family in the next year that has resulted in a horrible cold sore on my face. Yes, my face, not my lip like normal sickly people get. I’m an abnormal sickly person, it would seem. Really, I’m just exhausted and ready to hibernate for a week… and this perpetual Ohio summer monsoon is only reinforcing my desire to stay in bed.

Since hibernation is pretty much out of the question, here are the next best things: Sophie’s face full of blackberries, homemmade gluten free cookies, finally getting started on a project for my mother-in-law that I’ve been promising her since Christmas, and taking Sophie to the movies for the first time tonight to see the Minions movie.

I’m trying to focus on the good, yet even as I type this, I can hear my baby screaming in nap-protest from her crib upstairs. Ah, the sweet sweet life that is motherhood.

Enjoy your weekend everybody: the good, the bad, and the ugly!
