It’s been a busy week with all the preparations for the holidays. Not only have we been cooking and baking for Thanksgiving, but Advent also begins this Sunday. Also, we had our first snow this week! Which has really motivated me to stay in the kitchen near the warm oven πŸ˜‰

I’ve made honey cinnamon butter for the rolls, candied pecans for the salad, and a pumpkin crumb cake for us to enjoy at home [I’m actually not the biggest fan of pie]. We still have the stuffing and final preparations of the salad to go, otherwise, the rest of this weeks should be pretty relaxing.

I’ve tried to make a conscious effort this week to be thankful for all the ways my daughter brings joy into my life [instead of the negatives I usually focus on, heading into the “terrible two’s”]. Her beauty is particularly captivating, she gets more personality every day, she makes the “kissy noise” with her mouth if she’s being affectionate, and she giggles adorably when I give her eskimo kisses. As exhausted as this pregnancy has left me, Sophie has been sleeping through the night and going down for naps with ease, which takes a considerable amount of stress out of my day.

Not to mention, her crazy, curly bedhead always puts a smile on my face. I hope you all take some time to think about all the ways you are blessed. Have a happy Thanksgiving, and enjoy time with family and friends, I know I will… hence I will be taking a small blogging hiatus until after the holiday πŸ™‚
