As of yet, my husband and I don’t do the classic “Santa” routine with Sugar Plum. She has a St. Nicholas doll, and we do the tradition of opening stockings on his feast day as there are stories of the actual bishop filling the socks and shoes of the poor at night with provisions that they needed. We’re still debating how much of the classic American Santa we’ll want to incorporate, but there’s still time for that.
Besides St. Nicholas day, we had a pretty eventful weekend. Hubs and I drove to downtown Pittsburgh [using a really insane detour as there is still major construction being done on the 376]. We went to The Cheesecake Factory and fulfilled our yearly tradition of going to see The Nutcracker ballet. Also, our little town set up an Advent market in our downtown area. It was both a celebration of Christmas time, and our city’s eccentricities.
This week will be spent doing more Christmas prep, maybe the making of some cookies or banana bread, and packing for our upcoming holiday in California. Have a great week everyone!
