Tonight is J’s Christmas work party, and as I tried all week to pick some thing festive to wear over this enormous belly, it got me reminiscing about Christmases past. The picture above is from the Christmas we were engaged. We are at the Benedum center in Pittsburgh, seeing The Nutcracker for the first time together. It’s amazing to me that 4 years later, we are married and about to have our second child.
I’m not going to lie, this week has been tough for a number of reasons, and then I’ve been making it harder with anxieties about the upcoming weeks. I’m nervous to travel at 32 weeks in my pregnancy, I’m nervous that we still haven’t set up s space in our room for the new baby, I’m nervous about the transition from 1 kid to 2, etc.
So I tried to throw myself back into the happy holiday spirit by making a batch of banana bread and looking forward to the party tonight. This weekend we hope to get all our Christmas lights up outside, and put some finishing touches on our inside decorations with additional lights [the feast of St. Lucy is coming up, and she is the patron of “light” so I’m trying to coordinate our own personal light up night with her feast day.]
Have a great weekend every one! And, if you’re feeling stressed, try to take a deep breath and relax… take some time to do some thing you love this weekend.
