So Christmas was a bit crazy. While my parents live in the beautiful Huntington Beach, a lot of our family lives an hour south in San Diego. We made a few trips back and forth there, on top of traveling cross country to stay with my folks. As if that weren’t exhausting enough, J and I both wound up with the stomach flu, and Sophie with a cold. If that weren’t exhausting enough, J has now come down with a miniature version of whatever cold Sophie has. Plus, I’m 8 months pregnant, so it basically feels like I’m sick even when I’m well.
Now, those are the low lights, but the highlights include seeing Sophie more playful and interactive with my family than I had ever seen her act before. Giving hugs and kisses to uncles and grandparents totally melted my heart. I think it melted her godfather’s heart too, because he traveled back to Pittsburgh with us! Yes, Stephen is staying with us for a couple weeks while he’s on break from college to spend time with his goddaughter and help his poor pregnant sister prepare some things for baby.
In any case, I thought I’d give you a sneak peek of what we’re up to this week, because some of it is pretty exciting:
-J and I will be meeting with various banks in hopes of becoming homeowners in the near future! We found a house we really like, and want to take the dive into settling down. More details soon…
-J is a groomsmen in one of our close friend’s weddings this weekend [hopefully he won’t still be sick] so at some point, we have to go and pick up his tuxedo.
-I have yet another OB appointment. I’m anticipating this mostly to make sure baby is ok after having that nasty stomach bug.
-Christmas takedown. My goal is to utilize my strapping young brother’s help to take down all of our decorations as well as find places for all of Sophie’s new toys. As you can see in the top picture, they are scattered everywhere.
What are you up to for this week? Working on any resolutions? I’ll have a resolution update for you soon, also a recap of the resolutions I made last year [ha!] Have a great week, everyone!
